ISBN: 978-1-906129-02-6

This 3-volume work forms the second in a series of monographs by Henry Noltie documenting the more important collections of Indian botanical drawings in the Library of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, the first of which described the Dapuri Drawings. This work concerns the collection of drawings, and the vast herbarium collections that they are intimately connected with, that were commissioned by Robert Wight, a Scottish East India Company surgeon at Madras between 1826 and 1853.

Book 1, The Life and Work of Robert Wight, provides the definitive biography of Wight.

Book 2, Botanical Drawings by Rungia & Govindoo: the Wight Collection, is a lavishly illustrated catalogue of the botanical drawings including information on the plants that are illustrated. This volume also includes  essays on The Validity of Botanical Art as a Scientific Tool and The Artists.

Book 3, Journeys in Search of Robert Wight, describes the author's travels as he carried out the research that underpins his work and that illustrates the rich hybrid culture that is shared between Scotland and India.

Paperback (cased), 511pp, 296 x 234mm, full colour illustrations throughout
