Expedition Botanics 2026

Monday 3rd - Friday 7th August 2026 |
9:30 - 16:00 (13:00 Friday) | £225 | Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh | 10 places

For Secondary pupils heading into S5 or S6 (National 5, Higher and Advanced Highers level) after the summer holidays, or if pupils are moving on from school.

Expedition Botanics – explore the world of plants like never before

Join #TeamBotanics for the week and experience ‘behind the scenes’ in our research buildings at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.

Get curious about the world of plants, hone your skills through practical activities in our lab and ‘out in the field’ in our living plant collections, as we see how real science works. Discover how an interest in plants and the environment can lead to a diverse range of careers from archivist to horticulturist, and botanist to artist.

Plants are central to life on Earth and our work is helping to protect biodiversity so humanity can face challenges of the future such as climate change and biodiversity decline. By joining us you can play your part in our vision to inspire a world that increasingly values, protects and benefits from plants!
