The Superb Lily, Plate 58 in Robert John Thornton, Temple of Flora, (1807).

Temple of Flora was a collection compiled by botanist Robert John Thornton between 1799-1810. The original artwork was created by mixed method engraving, it was then printed in colour and finished by hand. 

Third part of Thornton's New illustration of the sexual system of Carolus von Linnaeus.

The frames are hand-finished timber rather than plastic or MDF, with the wood coming from sustainably managed forests in temperate climates.

Any offcuts from the manufacturing process including, timber, card, acrylic glazing are used to create smaller pieces of artwork across a multitude of cultural institutions.

All frames are packaged with recycled card corners, and everything leaves the workshop in Sussex in recyclable cardboard boxes.
