Sibbaldia is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in print and as a diamond open access online journal. It publishes the high quality and innovative horticultural practice of botanic gardens from around the world and is illustrated with colour images throughout.
In this issue there are ten articles from authors in botanical institutions in Australia, Brazil, Chile, England, Germany, Ireland, Nepal, the USA as well as from RBGE Horticulture and Science staff. Subjects covered include the many activities required to conserve and protect plant species and how botanical institutions contribute to this vital task. Topics in this issue range from the establishment of data-rich living collections, the development of software to help prioritise collection management, molecular research to improve understanding of invasive species, and innovative propagation techniques. Other topics that feature include the infrastructural and organisational developments that botanic gardens must make to adapt to the impacts of changing climate, and to positively evolve to ensure that everyone benefits from the plants, landscapes and learning opportunities in botanic gardens.
